SCHOFIELD BARRACKS, Hawaii — Local Army units are scheduled to conduct routine training activities in August that may be heard by surrounding communities.
Training can occur during daytime and nighttime hours and is subject to change. Weather, such as overcast conditions and Kona winds (southerly) can increase noise and vibrations. Should individuals hear noise, there is no immediate danger.
To report concerns related to noise or training, contact the NEW U.S. Army Hawaii’s Community Concern Line at (808) 787-1528 or [email protected]. Concerns are responded to during regular business hours, Monday through Friday, 8 a.m.-4 p.m.
For the community’s awareness, the training is as follows:
- August 1 – 2, 5-9, 29-29 Artillery and mortar live fire training on Schofield Barracks (Day and Night Live Fire, including late evening and early morning hours):
- 6 a.m. – Midnight
- August 16 – 17 Demolitions Training:
- 7 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.
- August 1-2, 2-9, 12-17, 19-24, 26-30 East Range: Range and Jungle Tactics, Small Arms Blank Fire:
- 6 a.m. – 6 p.m.
- August 1, 6, 8, 26-29 East Range: Aviation Training: Day Only
Upcoming Training: October 2024, Joint Pacific Multi-National Readiness Center Exercise
The military appreciates the understanding and continued support of the local community. While sometimes loud, this training is critical to ensure military units and service members are ready to accomplish their mission and return home safely.
