WIESBADEN, Germany -- The U.S. Army Garrison Wiesbaden community gathered to celebrate the official Grand Opening of The Italian Grill at The Airlift on Nov. 7.
The event kicked off with a ribbon cutting and cake cutting ceremony and continued with free samples such as shrimp alfredo, pasta Bolognese and baby back ribs with downhome coleslaw, to name a few.
Located at the Community Activity Center, Building 1011--now also known as The Airlift--on Clay Kaserne, The Italian Grill has been serving patrons and holding conferencing and catering events as part of its soft opening, or “trial period”, since Sept. 3 following the closure of the former Little Italy restaurant.
“I have heard nothing but great comments,” said U.S. Army Garrison Commander Col. Troy Danderson during opening remarks. “And from my own experience I think we have brought in the right restaurant, at the right time to fill that void.”
The Directorate of Family, Morale, Welfare and Recreation are excited for this next chapter and believe that the team at The Italian Grill are well on their way to solidifying their foothold in Wiesbaden with their warmth and delicious Italian-American menu.
The Italian Grill is open Sunday through Friday for lunch from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and for dinner from 5 to 10 p.m. and is closed on Saturdays and Federal Holidays.
Diverse menu items include Italian and American favorites such as pasta, pizza, burgers, steak, brisket, ribs and many more. View the full, updated menu on the MWR website here.
